Every barrister must have professional indemnity insurance and this is provided by the Bar Mutual Indemnity Fund (BMIF) which provides cover to individual barristers for a minimum £500,000 and up to £2.5m. Members of chambers may choose to take additional top-up insurance cover depending on their practice requirements. Details of additional cover can be supplied upon request.
Complaints should be made, in the first instance, to our Chambers Director.
If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you can escalate your complaint to the Bar Standards Board or the Legal Ombudsman.
